Our new year is yet to come.
2016 is a new year to many, but to these boys and girls it means nothing new as their situations remain the same like any other year.
The only growth they experience in their lives is divine growth.
They are being deprived from their social and economic rights to live in a decent environment.
These children have rights to social amenities like what other children in big cities are enjoying.
As young as they are, they fen for their parents.
They contribute to their growth and survival.
This writer saw these children on his way up country in 2015, he met them again in 2016 at the same location.
Poverty is heavily concentrated in rural areas and in urban areas.
About 75 per cent of the entire population are living in poverty, and more than half of them live on less than a dollar a day. The proportion of poor people living in rural areas is about 80 per cent.
The poorest areas are in the Northern and Southern provinces and in the eastern border provinces, which were particularly hard-hit by the war.
Nothing significant has changed in the country over the years.
What is new year not to talk about happy new year.
Its all good.
