London Town hall meeting calls for end to victimization of Allie Kabba in Sierra Leone

Yesterday Saturday, 6th February, 2016 was a special day in the south-eastern Borough of Southwark in London, where members of the Friends of Alie Kabba Campaign Group – UK & Ireland, gathered for a town hall meeting.

It was a political meeting like no other, with almost every seat set aside to accommodate those attending the meeting filled, and speaker after speaker extolling what they described as “the unquestionable leadership qualities of Alie Kabba”.

Dr. Alie Kabba – now regarded as the most vocal opposition presidential aspirant, has not only proven to be more than a handful to the ruling APC party in Sierra Leone, but has in the last couple of months won the hearts and minds of a large number of Sierra Leoneans that are hungry and desperate for political change in the country.

Since arriving in Sierra Leone from the USA about three months ago, Alie Kabba has become the de-facto spokesman for the opposition, constantly and persistently holding the hands of the Koroma government to the fire, demanding accountability, transparency, probity, justice and civil liberty.

And those attending Saturday’s meeting in south London, where in no doubt that their leader – Alie Kabba has become a national political icon – set to take Sierra Leone by storm at the polls in 2018.

A message that came out loud and clear at the meeting, was that Sierra Leone is a country in distress, with the dream of political change kept alive by the Alie Kabba Movement.

Addressing the Alie Kabba faithful, the Chairman of the UK and Ireland Branch of the Movement – Mr. Ansu Sillah, said that Alie Kabba is leading the campaign for transformational change in Sierra Leone, with courage, determination and conviction.

He told members of the Movement that millions of people across Sierra Leone have been won over by Alie Kabba’s passion, honesty, and fearlessness, despite the ruling party’s attempt to silence him.

The campaign for social justice and economic inclusion he said, will in the coming months be taken forward throughout all the districts of Sierra Leone to bring hope to millions of Sierra Leoneans that are feeling excluded and betrayed by a government that promised so much and yet delivered very little.

Mr. Ansu Sillah spoke about the divisions and infighting within the opposition SLPP that is threatening to derail the party’s chances at the polls in 2018.

Foday Moris: Under APC Sierra Leoneans continue to pay high price at the pump

Despite Falling Prices of Crude Oil, Sierra Leoneans  continue to Pay High Prices at the Pump.

By Foday Morris

Freetown/Sierra Leone:  In January 2015, the price of gasoline in Sierra Leone was reduced from Le. 4,500,000 (Four Thousand Five Hundred Leones) to Le. 3, 500,000 (Three Thousand Five Hundred Leones). It was a whopping 16.7% decrease in pump prices.   However, the price per barrel of crude oil at the same time was at $47.11 (Forty Seven Dollars and 11 Cents).

Fast forward to January 2016 — the price of crude oil has dropped from $47.11 (Forty Seven Dollars and Eleven  Cents) to $29.78 (Twenty Nine Dollars and Seventy Eight Cents) – that is almost a 40% (Fifty Percent) decrease in price.

Perhaps it has been an oversight by the regulatory bodies responsible for addressing such issues, because our entire nation was extremely engaged in fighting the Ebola Virus Disease that ravaged our country and killed many of our fellow citizens from April 2014 to almost the end of 2015.

Now that we have defeated Ebola, and that the Government has launched a robust Post Ebola Recovery Plan, we must refocus on the reality that Sierra Leoneans continue to buy a liter of gasoline, diesel and kerosene at the same cost of Le. 3,750,000 (Three Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand Leones) despite the drastic global price reductions..

The price of a barrel of oil decreased by 36.79% .  Assuming that all things remained equal, the price of a liter of fuel should have also reduced by the same percentage rate.  This simply means that the price of fuel (Petrol, Kerosene and Diesel) should have dropped by approximately Le. 1,379.63 (One Thousand, Three Hundred, Seventy Nine Thousand and Sixty Three Cents).

If we subtract Le. 1,379.63 (One Thousand, Three Hundred, Seventy Nine Thousand and Sixty Three Cents).from  Le. 3,750  (Three Thousand, Seven Hundred Thousand Leones and Fifty Leones) the answer is  Le. 2,370. 37 (Two Thousand, Three Hundred Seventy Thousand Leones and Thirty Seven Cents).  Why are we Sierra Leoneans still paying the old price?

On behalf of the People of Sierra Leone, and to help our economic recovery move faster, I take this opportunity to patriotically urge the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Honorable House of Parliament and the Petroleum Companies to look into adjusting these unfair price differences to reflect the realities on the price of crude oil and fuel around the world. .

Sierra Leone's New Anthony general publishes first month performance report

joseph kamara acc2The office of the attorney general and minister of justice of Sierra Leone, today informed the Sierra Leone Telegraph that after just thirty days of being appointed to head that office, Joseph Kamara (Photo), has accelerated access to justice in the country.

According to figures released by the attorney general’s office, between 4th of January and 4th February 2016, 95 indictments were filed and 53 refiled.

Of the 53 indictments refiled, 15% are said to be for offences of a very serious nature and 27% are in regard to sexual and gender based violence.

In addition, the attorney general is said to be pleased to report that he has listened to the concerns of rights groups and the general public, about the very slow pace of justice dispensation in the country.

And in the light of this, the attorney general is reported to have undertaken several administrative measures to enhance the expedition of justice in the country, in line with the president’s vision to reform the justice sector, by speeding up the justice delivery mechanism.

But the proof of the pudding is in the eating, as thousands of people are still languishing in the country’s main prison at Pademba Road in Freetown, where most have been locked up for more than two years, without appearing in court.

Alie Kabba4Last month, opposition leader – Alie Kabba (Photo), who was arrested on Christmas Eve, on what many believe to be a politically motivated charge of bigamy and jailed for several days at Pademba Road prison without due legal process, commented after his release that thousands of young people are being locked up in appalling conditions, without any hope of obtaining justice.

Dr. Alie Kabba himself is still awaiting justice, after being arrested three times in two months, on what appears to be political expediency, rather than the equitable administration of justice in Sierra Leone.

pademba road prison1According to the office of the attorney general, the 95 indictments filed in the last 30 days, are expected to significantly impact the remand population of the Freetown Correctional Center.

It says that the increased level of indictments would provide inmates the opportunity to have their day in court and get justice.

The report also asserts that actions taken so far by the attorney general, will significantly contribute to addressing the perennial problem of overcrowding in the country’s correctional centres.

“The Public is therefore encouraged to cooperate with the Director of Public Prosecutions Division of the Law Officers’ Department to ensure the speedy and effective trial of matters before the court.

“The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice wishes to further emphasize to the public, that it is the Government’s urgent desire to restore public confidence and trust in the justice delivery system,” says the report.

Joseph Kamara 2016 3Last month – Monday, 11th January 2016, Joseph Kamara – the man many in Sierra Leone believe to be hot favourite to succeed president Koroma as the ruling APC party’s presidential flagbearer in 2017, made history by becoming the first attorney general and minister of justice to publicly hand in his asset declaration form to his successor at the Anti-Corruption Commission – Mr Shollay Davies.

The head of the ACC – Shollay Davies commended the former anti-corruption commission boss, and called upon other government ministers and public officials to emulate the attorney general’s example.

He called on pubic officials in the country to ensure that their assets are declared in line with Section 119 of the ACC Act of 2008, which makes it mandatory for all public officials to register their Asset Declaration Forms annually.

The attorney general Joseph Kamara, told the Sierra Leone Telegraph that he has always complied with the requirements of Section 119 of the ACC Act of 2008, even as head of the ACC.

Elderly man dies while having sex with a prostitute, after getting attached and stuck inside her

Elderly man dies while having sex with a prostitute, after getting attached and stuck inside her
.
.
A disturbing video purporting to show a prostitute still attached at the genitals to an elderly man who died while having sex has emerged online and it shows paramedics transporting the alleged dead body with the woman still on top. .
.
The woman does seem to be moving, as a crowd of people stand around and watch in horror. The video first emerged on Chinese video sharing website Miaopai, before it was later shared by users on LiveLeak. .
.
People get stuck together while having intercourse, a rare occurrence known as 'penis captivus', where the vagina muscles clamp down on the penis much more firmly than usual. One way in which doctors are able to separate people stuck together is by giving the woman an injection commonly used to dilate the uterus of pregnant women.

Former LAPD cop claims Diddy had Tupac Shakur killed

A retired Los Angeles cop is convinced he’s cracked the case of Tupac Shakur’s decades-old murder — and the mastermind was none other than Sean (Diddy) Combs.

The music mogul formerly known as Puff Daddy offered Crips member Duane Keith (Keffe D) Davis $1 million to whack Shakur and his manager Suge Knight, former LAPD detective Greg Kading alleges in a new documentary based on his 2011 book “Murder Rap.”

When the gang member’s nephew, Orlando (Baby Lane) Anderson, eventually pulled the trigger, he fatally wounded Shakur but only injured Knight, Kading claims in the upcoming Netflix doc.

The shooting took place on a Las Vegas street in September 1996 and remains officially unsolved.

Comb scoffed at the theory when it first surfaced with the book.

“The story is pure fiction and completely ridiculous,” he said.

But Kading, who led an LAPD task force investigating the shooting deaths of Shakur and Brooklyn rapper Biggie Smalls, wrangled a confession out of Keffe D after the Crips member feared facing charges for a different crime.

His personal copy is heard in the Netflix documentary.

“You get a very strong sense that he’s speaking very genuinely and transparently. He comes across as telling the story as someone who was there. The fluidity is very natural,” Kading told the Daily News on Thursday.

The killer and his ex had had many confrontations over the child and child support payments but nobody suspected he would go this far!

Bomb Suspected in Deadly Explosion on Somalia Jet

Man sucked out of passenger jet after bomb exploded was a suicide bomber who smuggled his device on board in his WHEELCHAIR, claim investigators.

A wheelchair bound suicide bomber may have been responsible for the explosion which tore a hole in the side of a jet in Somalia, investigators have said.

They said the suspected terrorist, thought to be part of the Al-Shabaab Islamist group, may have faked a disability to bypass security checks at Mogadishu airport.

The suspected bomber is also thought to be the man who was sucked out of the plane after blowing a hole in the fuselage, shortly after the plane filled with more than 70 passengers took off from the Somali capital.

The man who fell from the plane has been named by local officials as Abdullahi Abdisalam Borleh, 55, from Somaliland, but they did not confirm if he was the suicide bomber.

Investigators  have   said he may have smuggled a bomb on board the plane in his wheelchair before moving to a different seat once on board, a Western diplomat briefed on the investigation told the Wall Street Journal.

Investigators believe Somali based terror group Al Shabaab was behind the suspected bomb blast.

But no group, including Al Shabaab, has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Airbus A321 was forced into an emergency landing in Mogadishu on Tuesday following the explosion on Tuesday.

Traces of explosive TNT was found on the aircraft, according to two U.S. government sources who cited forensic tests.

But one of them cautioned that such tests have a high false-positive rate and further tests are under way.

Yesterday, a Somali computer programmer told how the blast shook Daallo Airlines Flight D3159 five minutes after take off, tearing a hole in the jet's fuselage and sucking an elderly passenger to his death at 14,000 feet.

English-speaking child issues chilling warning to America before beheading prisoner in latest sick ISIS video

video shows a young, English speaking boy sawing the head off an unarmed hostage.

With his dagger pointed down the camera lens, the child issues a chilling threat to the United States for arming rebel groups to fight the terror group in Syria.

He says: 'Oh America, these are the soldiers you armed and you spent money on to fight the Sharia of Islam.

'We will destroy them as we destroyed the [inaudible] of Iraq... You can't escape,' he adds in the propaganda video which is thought to have been filmed in Aleppo, Syria.

The boy then says ISIS will meet their enemies 'on the hills of Dabiq' - a small Syrian town where some Muslims believe the final, apocalyptic battle against the West will be fought.

It is thought the boy, dressed in a grey tunic, is the son of ISIS fighter Abu Darda

Who was killed by a U.S. airstrike in Aleppo.

ISIS's hostage, dressed in an orange jumpsuit, was thought to be a fighter for the Levant Front rebel faction - a coalition of groups who came together to destroy the fanatics.

He is forced to give an interview entirely in Arabic before he is shackled and marched to an area of woodland.

In the 17 minutes long video, the boy leads the man through the trees and forces him to kneel on the ground.

The English speaking boy then threatens America, although his accent does not make clear where he is originally from.

Finally, he reaches down to pull the man's neck up towards him and cuts his head off with a sharpened dagger.

The carefully edited video also includes shots of destroyed buildings and roads, which appears to have been caused by airstrikes on ISIS territory.

This is not the first time the terror group has featured young children in its execution videos.
